So its my favorite time of year. Thats right, its multi sport season and its been coming up fast and furiously with the eradic weather we've been having in Virgina. This year I am proud to be part of the Bike Stop Pro Team , competing at the Sport level for the newly added running division. I'm excited to be part of a team again and surrounded by fellow fitness enthusiasts, as well as help with the marketing and outreach to secure some great new sponsors and bring the Bike Stop Pro Team name out into the community. Thus far I have been training hard (well as hard as I could with some of the wacky weather) since Decemeber and have been running races to check by progress along the way.... many of the races were not during the BSPT official race season, but that's understandable since road and trail races for runners exist all year long basically. Below are the results and little comments on each race I've done leading up to goal of running the Marine Corps Historic Half Marathon on May 16th, 2010, and then a few optional races I have looked at so far for the summer. Though I will probably take May and part of June eary before I start pounding out the miles for the Baltimore Half in October.
Jan
March
21 - Molly's Irish Pub Wearin of the Green 5K - Warrenton, VA
April
May
16th - Marine Corps Historic Half Marathon, Fredericksburg Va. -- last year I ran a 1:44:36 as my first HM ever
31st - Civitans 10K - Fredericksburg, VA -- I've got to defend my division title from last year!
June
19 -Colonial 10K - Virginia Beach, 7:30pm
July
3rd - Culpeper Freedom 5K (I didn't do too well in this last year, especially because I wasn't training very much at the time, so I'd like to run a strong time locally).
I'll add more to them as I come across them, jump in some spur of the moment, and of course when I start buckling down for the Baltimore Half Marathon again in October and need to run some 5, 10 and whatver Ks in preparation. But for now, thanks for all the support so far and continue to press on yourselves!
